Haiku to save the world…
poverty speaks
whispering pain so softly;
will you hear it?
—
war squanders life
kills away for lavish gains;
do you see it?
—
blood shed in vain
poured from nearly empty glass;
can you taste it?
—
polluted skies
pink sunsets sink lonely hearts;
do you smell it?
—
ravaged earth
awaiting peace, prosperity;
will you help Her?

I decided today to try my hand at writing haiku and this is the result of my efforts. Not sure if it is by the book haiku, but it’s close enough for me! Hope you all enjoy!

Wow, I know how hard it is to write a Hauiku and to do what you did here, is absolutely fantastic!! Your words have touched me. Well done my friend x
haiku is an interesting style and I’m glad I did not disapoint!
This is far from disappointing. Its a great read, many times over.
These haikus are wonderful. Each one is great on it’s own and the way they tie together with the questions at the end is just brilliant! Haiku is my favourite poetry form, and I have a few on my other blog, too.
Thank you so much for stopping by my page…:)

I love haiku but not how short it is, so tying it together into a longer work is a lot of fun. Thanks for coming by!
These are great verses, great questions, makes one think. I love it!

Wow… Great write. I would say more but it would cheapen your effort here. Great job. Love and Light, Sender
Very reflective poem….crafted so beautifully.
Haiku to save the world (film at 11)
Why, that’s almost (but not quite) as pretentious as Alphabet To Save The World
Powerful and beautiful!
Brilliant effort at haiku too!! Loved ’em all!! The message stayed intact throughout…
Thank you for linking this poem at poetry potluck! It’s just superb!
Very clever use of words. I can hardly believe these are your first and what a topical and moving subject.
Haiku is a wonderful form…you will find it gets easier to think in 5-7-5 as you go on. It’s a simple formula, but very challenging to perfect; you, My Friend, are on the road to perfection 🙂
powerful… very!
